James Prayer Day 7

JAMES DAY 7 PRAYER

Pray that you will come to believe with all your heart the steadfast, unshakable, solid promises of God to be Truth. Pray that your trust in Him will become strong and be your backbone in life. Pray that you will not doubt, that your faith will be solid and at times of trouble, you will know beyond a shadow of at doubt that His Word is True and never changing.

James 1:16-18 (New International Version)

16Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. 17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

JAMES DAY 7 CHALLENGE

If we could easily apply the first three words of this verse, our lives would be completely transformed, wouldn’t they? “Do not be deceived” I believe following that root of deception is the fact that we really don’t believe “every good and perfect gift is from above.” If we truly believed this, we wouldn’t go chasing after fruitless things.

Imagine, if we believed that everything we have is a gift from the Lord. If we believed that our families, our talents, our looks, our personalities, our friends, our possessions, our lives were good and perfect gifts! Sadly to say we are often deceived to believe that are family is not important, our talents and looks are not good enough, that our personalities are not satisfactory to others, that our possession are junk compared to others and our life has no significance. What a shame!

See God has made us many promises in His Word and when the book of James says, “the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” it means that His promises are true and never changing! It means that He will never leave us or forsake us, that we are precious children of the King, that He knows us by name, that we were created in His image, that our sins are forgiven completely, because these are promises that God has given to each of us forever!

I challenge you today to look up and find some of the promises of God given to you from His Word. Write them down and keep them with you. Do not be deceived to believe the lies the enemy tells you. God brings light to expose darkness. My prayer is that light was shed for you today.

SPECIAL PRAYER/CHALLENGE TO WIVES FOR THEIR HUSBANDS:

JAMES DAY 7 PRAYER

Pray that your husband will believe with all his heart in the unchangeableness of God. Pray that he will come to know God’s Word and His promises to be absolute Truth. Pray that he will firmly plant his beliefs on God’s Word and on His promises to a point that his trust in Him is unshakable! (James 1:16-18)

JAMES DAY 7 CHALLENGE

Trust and faith go hand in hand. We are all susceptible of having our faith shaken. With the ongoing attacks of the enemy, there is ample opportunity for our husband’s faith to get rocked. One of the best things a person can do for me when I begin to question God, His Word, His promises, or His plan for my life is to help me remember. Help me remember all He has done in my life.

Ladies, who knows our husbands more than we do? Not too many people, if any. One of the best things we can do for them at a time of doubt is to remind them of all the things God has done in their lives and throughout your marriage.
