JAMES DAY 9 PRAYER
Pray that you will respond to God’s Word. Pray that you will be a person that does not merely listen to the Word but does what it says so that you will be blessed in what you do. (James 1:22-25)
James 1:22-25 (New International Version)
22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.
JAMES DAY 9 CHALLENGE
As we are continuously challenged by the book of James, let’s take this series of prayers to a serious level. Let us apply those things that speak to us so boldly to our everyday lives.
James makes it very simple for us to understand, if you merely just listen to the Word, you will be deceived. If you actually do as it says, you will be blessed in what you do! I find that obedience is the key to peace and blessings. My challenge for you today and for the rest of the prayers and challenges of James is to do what they say! I know, call me crazy, but what’s the point otherwise? Why do we bother reading God’s Word if we have no intention of changing habits? Life change happens one step at a time, one small yet consistent decision at a time. Let us be open to be corrected and to make some changes to gain the peace that we deeply desire.

SPECIAL PRAYER AND CHALLENGE TO WIVES FOR THEIR HUSBANDS:
JAMES DAY 9 PRAYER

JAMES DAY 9 CHALLENGE
Praying for your husband to grow spiritually is such a responsibility. I look at it as one of the most important things I can do for my husband. Where my own challenge lies is with my patience with my husband’s spiritual growth.
I want to challenge each of us today to let go of our control over our husband’s walk with the Lord and know that God will ultimately do with our husbands what needs to be done. Our strong suggestions or nagging are not helpful or motivating to our spouses. Our reciting scripture to show him his wrongs or pointing things out to him that are ungodly on a regular basis rarely lead our spouses to desire to know His Word, follow His Word or come to know His ways. In fact, it often has the opposite affect. So, today our challenge is to pray and to encourage, as usual! When we find our husband following God’s Word in a practical way, let’s share with him that we noticed.
