JAMES DAY 14 PRAYER
Pray that God will fill you with all the mercy you need to flow out and over to others in the same way our God’s mercy flows out and over to us. (James 2:12-13)
James 2:12-13 (New International Version)
12Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!
JAMES DAY 14 CHALLENGE
Sounds like being merciful is pretty important here, you think? When I read these verses I realized that understanding exactly what it means to be merciful was important, so here we go:
The Greek word for merciful here is eleos. It means “kindness or good will towards the miserable and the afflicted, joined with a desire to help them, compassion”
I don’t know about you but I certainly am not interested in receiving judgment without mercy, are you? I often find it funny how people including myself, expect others to behave differently towards us than we behave towards others. So let’s take today’s challenge as a self-evaluation and self-check on our level of mercy towards others. Our level of mercy to others is directly connected to our relationship with the Lord. The closer we are to God, the more we become like Him. We need to be filled with God, filled with His Holy Spirit.
Remember, the fruit of “the Spirit” includes kindness and goodness. So, if we find ourselves lacking in the area of mercy, let us get on our knees and ask God to fill us with His Holy Spirit so that His fruit of mercy may flow from us like never before.
Let us all be challenged today to take mercy to a whole new level in our lives.

SPECIAL PRAYER/CHALLENGE TO WIVES FOR THEIR HUSBANDS:
JAMES DAY 14 PRAYER
Pray that your husband will be a merciful man. Pray that mercy will prevail throughout your marriage. (James 2:12-13)
JAMES DAY 14 CHALLENGE
To receive mercy is to not receive punishment that one deserves. It is often confused or used in place of grace, which is receiving something one doesn’t deserve. God gives us His mercy when He does not condemned to hell for eternity because of our sin and He gives us grace when he forgives us through His Son which gives us eternal life with Him.
