JAMES DAY 18 PRAYER
Pray that you will show your wisdom and understanding in the way that God wants you to do so. Pray that you will show your good life by your deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. Pray that you will hunger for wisdom and seek it out in the way that Proverbs tells you to. (James 3:13)

13Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
JAMES DAY 18 CHALLENGE
It’s funny because here James goes back to the “teacher” in a sense, the wise and understanding one among you. The book of James again addresses that fact that teachers or mentors have a high responsibility with their deeds and actions. But here James explains to us how we are to show our wisdom and understanding, not by the letters after our name, not by the numbers built in our ministries, not by the success of our jobs or the greatness of our children, or not by our superior accomplishments or grades. We show our wisdom and understanding by our good life, by our deeds and not just any deeds. Certainly not deeds that we find to be wonderful, bold, creative and magnificent. Nope, it’s by our deeds of humility! And where do these humble deeds come from? Well, they come from wisdom.
And for those of you who have studied Proverbs, you know where wisdom comes from. Check out how each of these verses from Proverbs go hand in hand to what James says:
Proverbs 1:1-2, 1 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: 2 for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight;
Proverbs 2:6, 6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 11:2, 2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
We certainly have some work to do here! Let’s show our good life by gaining wisdom, the wisdom that is defined by God’s Word. Re-read it if you have to, meditate on it if you must, but let God’s Truth be a life changing moment for you today!

JAMES DAY 18 PRAYER
Pray that as your husband becomes wiser and more understanding that he will show it by his good life. Pray that his good life will consist of deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. (James 3:13)
JAMES DAY 18 CHALLENGE
Isn’t it great that we want to pray for our husbands to be wise and understanding and with that wisdom and understanding we want him to show it by his good life?
Well, are we a wise and understanding wife? Do we desire to be such a woman? I think deep down we do. So, what does that mean? It means we show our wisdom and understanding to our spouses by our good life, by deeds done in humility.
